THE STORY SO FAR
Ed Conway had a vision – take his beloved folk music and rework it for a modern audience.
The first line up of the band started working in late 2013, playing at folk clubs and pubs while recording the debut album, Rope Or A Ladder, combining folk standards with some of Ed’s own compositions.
Work on the second album, Don’t Sing Love Songs, began in 2015 and included guest spots from Ed’s bandmates in Lost The Plot, Paul Crewe and Simon Mann, with Simon Carswell joining as a full member. The album was released the following year and demonstrated a fuller sound, edging away from the traditional folk sound of the previous release.
This is where the sound of the band started to coincide with the sound Ed had in his head and the lineup was morphing to match this. Now Paul and Simon joined Ed, Simon, Jon and Ben to record 2017’s Poke The Frog, an EP recorded live to document the direction the band was now heading.
The band played their last live performance to date in March of 2018 to take a rest and figure out their next move. Work began writing songs for a new album but before it came to fruition, the world changed…
